i’m stuck on a island, not doing any work

hey guys! i’m here at 840am in the morning in the company blogging because i have no work to do. SERIOUSLY. ever since yesterday morning at 10am, i had no work to do! i kept asking my boss if there was anything to do. (chey, so hardworking and responsible sia.) and she insisted that i go stay at my corner and do my own things. HEH. so funny.

so i stayed in my corner, and completed my overseas expedition stuff. i love my job.

okay, enough about work. last night, on my way back home from school after a meeting, i was actually reading a book on the bus 179. and i WAS engrossed in the book. until i don’t why for the life of me, i stopped reading and turned my head around to look down at the busstop ( i was on the upper deck). and who would i see but mr o on si ren st e ven, holding hands with his very sweet girlfriend. and they looked so happy. my lower secondary crush is all grown up with a girlfriend now. BOOHOO. hahaha. i wonder if his voice is still squeaky.

and samanchu, i think you can go buy the tickets first if you want, cos that week i’ll be super busy with overseas expedition stuff because it’ll be the preparation week before we fly off on 23rd june. i was actually planning to join you guys after my trip! BUT i found out that the ticket from phnom penh by vietnam air is 150 USD! si beh expensive leh! haha. it’s more expensive than flying from vientiane to kl. i think i add busfare back to singapore. also not 150 USD. hahaha.

btw xxxin, i’m seriously considering going to france for my exchange! (i think i’ll take a loan) wish me luck ok, because i think my GPA is erm, not going to make it this semester. HEH. (results are coming out on 5th june for me)

xoxo, L.

i’m stuck on an island

yup, i’m stuck on an island. no, not our beloved xinjiapo. but a man-made island beside xinjiapo: JURONG ISLAND. haha, i’m taking the opportunity to blog now during work because my boss just took half a day off! and i feel a little naughty today since it is afterall a FRIDAY! haha. what do i do here at s e m b corp? i file papers. i file more papers. i put files into boxes and pack them up. and have i mentioned, i file more papers? hahaha. it’s not what i would have imagined myself doing for the holidays, but it pays for my future bike and diving lessons so i’m not complaining even though i have to wake up at 630 to catch company transport. (I HAVE COMPANY TRANSPORT LEHHH.) hahahaha.

and i’m in my own little world here. i file my papers in one corner and when it’s lunchtime, i take out my lunchbox (yes, the lunchboxes that i used to bring to school with my sandwiches in them!), plug in my ipod, take out my book, and proceed to read in my little corner in the office. haha, and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. though i think office air is not very conducive for the brain.

so sam, i don’t get to serve our minister mentor high-class sushi and asahi beer. but i do have a JURONG ISLAND PASS. (to get to work every morning.) and with this pass, I CAN DO WONDERS. HOHO.

and sharan and tingting, i can’t wait for you to come back. PREASE COME BACK SOON HORRRR. and goody luckings for exams!

i just realised i will no longer be considered a freshman anymore. I’LL BE A YEAR 2/SOPHOMORE. DIE. and 2 years later, i’ll just be wondering why the hell i went to university as i find myself jobless and penniless. HAHAHA.

xoxo,  L.

ps. i’m annoyed at myself now because i didnt bring my ic to register for bike lessons ): i was so looking forward to register for them! but i’ll have to exercise patience and just register next week then. (i didnt tell my parents that i’m going to get my bike license. they’d skin me alive if they found out. i think.)

you guys are such bad influence, encouraging procrastination, blog-addiction, exam-failure etc. that’s why i love you guys so much man. anyway i was reading sharan’s post (and her bragging about being 1 metre away from dave freaking grohl) and i wanna brag too!

I SERVED SUSHI TO LEE KWAN YEW. BEAT THAT! i was so close to our founding-father i could lean over and wipe his spotty head. i was so close i could pluck out his ear hair. i was so close i could have smashed the plate of sushi into his face.

but i’m sorry to say i didn’t, partly because i still needed my job and partly because he had 10 bodyguards with him. but i hope i still brought some pride and honour to the marooned 5, since we’re all such HUGE fans of his. i’m surprised he didn’t recognise me considering how many times the SDC have threatened to detain us for bad behaviour overseas. anyway sneaking into the room to serve him is still the biggest cheap thrill of my life thus far.

In conclusion, i need a life. and i need you guys to provide that for me. TING AND SHARAN! get your asses back here ASAP. and liyana, xin and azza, i’ll see you on saturday. bye loves!

i apologise for the lack of blogging but i too, like ms ang hui-ting-lovely-girl-in-white-dress, am facing crunch time… shitloads of assignments due and i just handed in my law case note and i feel like a fucking genius cuz the footnotes make things look so impressive but i’m probably gonna fail the damn thing anyway… i finish me exams on the 21st and i was gonna come running into the loving arms of the maroon 5 BUT my lovely, loving, absolutely smashing brother got tickets to the Aussie vs France rugby game for my birthday… and i am not an idiot and thus i’m so going for that…

so what that means is i’m gonna be back on the 29th and will run into u’re arms then..

the term’s been pretty boring except for my brother’s graduation cuz my parents flew in for 2 weeks and we were running around in sydney for 2 weeks like the Brady Bunch.. i have found the most fantastic places to eat and with the financial support of my parents , i have eaten and all these places and have the body mass to prove it.. celebrated my mom’s birthday where i baked the birthday cake and my bro cooked the birthday dinner… this is an example of how creepily family-like we were…

i also went for the foo fighters concert… it was AWESOME…. imagine 20,000 people in a stadium with Dave Grohl aka rock GOD… the guy who was drummer for nirvana and queens of the stone age.. it was 3 hours of absolute high without bony mats crushing themselves against you (sam u noe EXACTLY what i’m talking abt and i really wished u were here with me) and we went there 40 mins early and believe it or not we got a place along the runway that’s connected to the stage… i was like A METRE away from dave grohl… i swear i can die in peace now and not come back as a ghost… but here’s a little vid for you guys:

I LOVE THE FOO FIGHTERS

i love u guys too.. and i’m dying to see u guys and we must assemble in my house and update our band pictures… ligana hope sihanoukville was cool… azza i’m damn jealous of the friend who is going with u to japan cuz u were the japanophile i wanted to go to japan with… XxXxXiiiin i will kill u if u walk OUR walking route with anyone else u slut… sam, we shall do some of our quota of restaurants this summer if u’re savvy (i won’t take no for an answer) and ting, whose name is worshipped on my facebook profile, hang in there for the crunch time… i feel u’re pain… and i’ll see u guys soon kay?

love and hugs and missing u guys like crazy,

sharan

ps- i was almost run into by a cyclist and i fell down when hopping outta the way.. now my most of the skin on my knee is gone and it hurts like crazy… so nowadays i look like a retard cuz i hobble around school… %#$@%#$#$%!!!!! cyclist!!!!

I think, in the light of our long and prosperous friendship, some rules should be set for the continuation of said long and prosperous friendship:

1. Thous shalt blog, dammit, when thy friend is in need of procrastinationary distractions.

2. Thous shalt have exciting lives to blog about.

3. When thous hath no exciting lives to blog about, thous shalt gossip about others’ exciting lives.

4. When thy world is sad and miserable and boring, thous shalt blog about thy mundane life, be it musings on babysitting-while-mum-has-knee-injuries, reflections on the effect of high class japanese cuisine on one’s love life, or clubbing on the beach drunk with hot surfer dudes. unless thou art in the midst of winter in the land of down under, HA.

5. Thous shalt taketh the hint, and clicketh on Write Post icon instantly. Hasten!

To the long and prosperous friendship of Marooneth 5,

Cheers.

hi guys

miss me? cuz i sure do miss you. it’s the second stretch of exam week – papers were all due in today – so all i have to do from now until the 21st is cram my mind full of information for systematic regurgitation on the day of the exam – something that sounds easy to do right? i mean, what other skill has singaporeans been so well-trained in?

wrong. i have been turned to the dark side. i have learnt to embrace continual assessment rather than one-big-exam-that-counts-for-100%-of-your-grade. of course, i say this when the continual assessment is over and the big exam is here. but well. human beings are hypocritical. dont judge, you know you do it too.

what is the point of me rambling here? the point is that i hate men. what, you don’t follow? sorry, let me backtrack. let me clarify that i am the equipment manager of the women rugby team, aka the one who is in charge of what everyone else doesnt care about, aka rugby bitch. let me clarify that at the end of each season, i am in charge of retaining possession of team equipment – those beautiful matching team bags, heart-warming warmup jackets? yes, i have to wrench them from the team’s lifeless hands if thats what it takes. and trust me, that’s what it takes. and yes, thats a pun. and also, i have to take the balls, all 30000 of them, into storage in the gym. and today, taking a break from studying, which you all know is hard for me to do, i finally secured a ride to go down to the field (in my defense it was far away, and 3000000 balls are heavy collectively) BUT WHAT DO I SEE? A LARGE FUCKING LOCK ON MY SHED. let me backtrack and clarify that it was not my shed, but rather the men and women’s team shed wherein all our equipment are kept during season. but still, it was MY SHED. and i COULD NOT GET TO MY 300000000 babies. so i had to go home without those 300000000000000 babies. and so i have to find another time to get down there, get another driver, in order to store them. and i still have to bug some people about their bags and warmups.

so do you now see why i feel aggravated enough to dump this story on you guys? do you now see why?

actually, i just came here to ask XIN if she texted me the other day, because i got a text that was cut in three (or more), and i just got the middle part. essentially, i got this:

‘out having answers to tutorials! wish me luck for my practical exam tomorrow esp since rehearsal was cancelled today. when’s your flight back oh lovely’

i do know xin well, and i do know that she isnt the most comprehensible person around, but i believe this quality of writing to be far below even her capabilities. so i shall wish her luck, inform her (and all of you) that my flight lands at 5.15am on june 5, that i dont expect to see you there but i do expect to see you on june 6, and ask: what else was in that text?

love,

ting

she misses everyone oh so terribly.

hello. i havent posed anything (youtube videos dont count. it just shows that im too lazy to contribute anything in words.) in a long time so heres a lil something.

i dont aim for a diving license (cos i cant swim rather well) and although a bike license sounds really cool i dont think i will try to get one anytime soon. Maybe when im finally earning money as a pharmacist (the very thought annoys the hell out of me) i will get that license. So liyana, if ur patient, wait for me ne. Freshman year is over and that marks the end of the only year in uni where u get to take things easy. Pharmacy is frustratingly foreign to me. I dont see whats there to enjoy about it. On a nicer note, taking Jap this semester was really たのしかったです!(tanoshi=fun) Met lots of people from different areas of study and other Japanophiles. Also, i’d like to make a correction here. Sharan, im not going to Japan this june for the Summer Programme. (Theres a more interesting summer programme which includes homestay in Kyuushu but i can only apply for that one after i complete Jap2. So i will be saving my money for that.) This June im going to Japan with this friend of mine. We initially intended to go for a concert, but then we realised that the process wasnt so smooth sailing so we decided to drop it. So we will just be travelling around Japan.

Oh and somewhere in between the exam period my mom got a knee operation so now im stuck as the full time babysitter in the house. So yeah, i think its cool that mom now has a metallic knee. Theres prolly a hidden defensive knife inside that springs out when tap her knee. Way to go mom! I think thats the coolest mothers day any mom can receive.

To Sharan, if you have time to spare, you should check out David Sides on youtube. Hes a pianist from Columbia University who does classical covers of hiphop artists, incl bonethugs&harmony and T-Pain. I think you’ll love him. I do. I think im also responsible for the 1 million hits he has on his videos.

To Ting, are u having exams or something? If u are, well good luck. Come home soon and we’ll have nasi lemak in Changi. And we will feed u so well like that evil witch from Hansel and Gretel.

To the rest of you guys, i think a dessert fix should do us some good.

LOVE YOU PEOPLE COS U R ALL MY ICHIBANS.

hey beautiful, pimple-prone, fat-depositing (only during exams) lovelies

FIRSTLY, DEAREST TING, I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO COME BACK HOME. we can all pig out and become fatter than we already are and not give a shit about it. i miss you, i miss sharan, and i don’t want the four of us to meet up and talk about how pathetic our local uni lives are anymore. HAHA. just come back home and knock some sense into me will you? HUGS.

OKAY, moving on. i’m back from redang and i’ve come home with a goal in mind: i want to get a diving license. but that goal will not be fulfilled anytime soon because that goal is pretty pricey and expensive and right now, after buying myself an ipod and an acoustic guitar, i’m pretty much broke. so until i can find myself another job, i’ll just quietly stay at home and save up for that license of mine. hoho.

actually, i was thinking of getting a bike license as well. BUT, it would have to be in secret because the parents surely wouldn’t allow puny little me to ride a bike, plus i don’t have a bike of my own anyways. but see guys, if i had a bike license, i could ride during our overseas trips and save on annoying tuk-tuk and taxi trips. that time at krabi, i was oh-so-tempted to try out the motorcycle! haha. but i think i’ll shelve bike license plans for now.

i’ll be going to cambodia, silhanoukville (the beach area!) from 23rd june to 6th july for overseas CIP. i’ll be helping the street children there so wish me luck!

and xxxxxin, you should probably start practising some italian or something. (: arrivederci! HAHA.

SHARAN WHERE ARE YOU GIRL!?!?!?!?

xoxo, L.
