hey guys: i just got news that this kid i tutored in econ and math before i left for princeton just got 4As in her A levels….I AM ECSTATIC and want to share the news…no one here knows what a big deal A levels is so you guys have to suffice =D I AM SO ECSTATIC. i mean…this kid was failing almost all her subjects when i got to her…by her prelims she was getting As and Bs in econ and math…and i talked her through her A levels from here…I know i only really did very little, it was really her own initiative and she could probably have done just as well with another tutor, but I AM JUST FLUSHED WITH THE EXCITEMENT OF perhaps having influenced someone’s life in a big way – i mean, grades aren’t everything, but they are a big deal…and 4As is very very well-respected even in rj, let alone for a kid from cj who was failing and getting detention and all that – I am so glad for her. at the same time i’m also strangely happy for myself…having done something of some good. i can be so selfish sometimes. this really should be all about her…yet i derive such happiness and self-satisfaction from this. hmm.
